Spectronic Medical provides large field-of-view phantoms and evaluation software for geometric QA in any MRI based radiotherapy workflow

The GRADE phantom and evaluation software from Spectronic Medical are developed to support assessment of system-related geometric distortions in MRI scanners across the full field of view.
This solution is intended to assist with routine quality assurance in MRI-based workflows by providing tools for evaluating the geometric accuracy of acquired MR images.

The GRADE phantom is a lightweight device (less than 10 kg) containing approximately 1,200 spherical markers. It is available in models tailored for different MRI scanner types to ensure consistent marker distribution throughout the effective imaging volume. The phantom is designed for use with standard MRI sequences, allowing geometric distortion assessments to be performed under clinically relevant imaging conditions.
Key advantages
  • Available in versions adapted for specific MRI scanner models, supporting coverage across the effective imaging field of view.

  • Designed to support daily quality assurance procedures; the phantom weighs less than 10 kg (22 lb) for ease of handling.

  • Includes software that performs automated processing and generates an evaluation report with visual and quantitative outputs.

GRADE software
The GRADE evaluation software is accessed either through a web interface or through a software installed at the hospital. In the latter case MR images are directly sent from the MRI scanner to the software through standard DICOM communication, to enable seamless integration into any clinical workflow. MR images are processed by the GRADE evaluation software, which generates a PDF report that is provided back to the user.

GRADE Evaluation report
The evaluation report includes diagrams and tables that present data on the geometric characteristics of the MRI scanner. It is intended to support routine quality assurance activities. For users with more advanced analysis needs, the system can optionally provide complete distortion vector fields as an additional output.
