Spectronic Medical was founded by Dr. Carl Siversson in 2012. Spectronic Medical is focused on developing advanced image analysis products for health care and industry.

Today, Spectronic Medical provides its technology to hospitals around the world where it is used to improve cancer treatment for thousands of patients.

Spectronic Medical has several long standing research collaborations with leading hospitals and universities around the world. The company is an active contributor to the scientific community with many published and peer reviewed papers.

The company is located in the Spectronic headquarters in Helsingborg, Sweden.

Parent company Spectronic AB was founded in 1964 by Per Siversson. For many years the company was a pioneer in research, development and manufacturing of radio communications and mobile telephony.

Spectronic products have been developed both under the Spectronic brand name but also for Philips, Plessey, Bosch, Siemens, Ericsson and other well-known companies.

Among several other inventions Spectronic developed the first mobile phone ever with a built in digital camera back in 1999 and also the first mobile phone with a built in digital data terminal back in 1989. All devices were manufactured at the company's production line in Helsingborg.

The gold medal of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, IVA, was awarded to Spectronic founder Per Siversson in 1995. The enterprise received this distinction for among other things the development of the first mobile telephone with a built-in computer.

The Polhem prize, Sweden’s oldest and foremost technological science prize was given to Spectronic in 1991. The prize is given to persons who have distinguished themselves for successful engineering on the highest technological level.

Spectronic has also been appointed the Export Enterprise of the Year and the Electronic Enterprise of the Year in Sweden.

Spectronic Medical has been awarded as one of Sweden's 33 hottest young technology companies both in 2017 and 2018.
